Coating for Organic Corn Seed
Blue River Hybrids is pleased to
be able to offer NII
Film Coat™ as
an option for its organic seed corn customers for 2008-9. NII Film Coat™ is
designed to provide plant nutrients directly to the organic seed to help
promote plant health, germination and vigor during the critical
early stages of plant development.
Our tests have shown that organic seed
coated with NII Film Coat™ provided
better plant stand and ultimately higher yields when compared with
uncoated organic seed.
The tables below compare NII Film Coat™ with uncoated seed
when environmental conditions caused a reduction in plant population.
When conditions were unfavorable to uncoated seed, the organic seed with
NII Film Coat™ had improved populations and yields.
